Municipal Manager Mr. Alfayo Lel today joined H.E.Dr Yulita Chebotip , the County Executive team and representatives from KCB Bank for a technical consultative meeting focused on solarization and the implementation of key County projects.
The meeting deliberated on sustainable energy solutions aimed at reducing electricity costs across public facilities while enhancing environmental conservation and climate resilience within the County.
Speaking during the session, Mr. Lel applauded the collaborative spirit demonstrated by the County and KCB teams noting that the Municipality stands to significantly benefit from the solarization programme. He emphasized that adopting high-quality solar systems in municipal facilities such as markets, street lighting, administrative offices and public institutions will lower operational costs, improve service delivery and contribute to long-term sustainability goals.
“The Municipality is committed to embracing renewable energy solutions that not only reduce recurrent electricity expenditures but also strengthen climate adaptation efforts and promote green urban development,” Mr. Lel stated.
KCB Team Leader, Mr. Erick Naivasha commended the County and Municipal leadership for proactively prioritizing solar energy as a viable and forward-looking solution. He underscored that solarization will provide clean, reliable and cost-effective power for public facilities while supporting the broader agenda of sustainable development.
The engagement marks a significant step toward positioning the Municipality as a model for green growth, energy efficiency and climate-smart urban management.
